Wednesday, June 2nd, from 5:30-6:45 p.m. (EDT)
Teresa will lead you through an organic approach to Jazz dance technique emphasizing body alignment, deeper awareness and greater ease of movement. Her class begins with the10-minute signature Simonson warm-up designed to methodically prepare the body for dance. This foundation is carried throughout the class’s exercises and combinations with great attention paid to rhythm and musicality.
Teresa (Te) Perez Ceccon has been a dance teacher and artist in New York City for over 20 years. A native New Yorker, Te earned a BA in Theater/Dance from Queens College. She has danced works by a variety of highly regarded choreographers as well as her own and has performed in many New York City venues with several independent dance companies. As a protege of master teacher Lynn Simonson, she is a seasoned educator of the Simonson technique working in NYC studios and colleges, including Gina Gibney Dance Center and Centenary University in Hackettstown, NJ. She also runs workshops in Europe, Canada and South America. Te obtained her MFA in Dance from Montclair State University, writing her thesis on Latin Jazz music and dance. She has been teaching on Zoom for over a year.
