Jazz Choreography Enterprises is seeking original works of jazz dance to present in its semiannual showcase, The New York Jazz Choreography Project. The performances will be held in the theater at Manhattan Movement and Arts Center, 248 W. 60th Street, on October 19th and 20th at 8 p.m. We accept various styles of jazz dance—musical theater, contemporary, etc.—but we are especially interested in seeing African, Latin, and funk styles or examples of early jazz, such as Charleston and swing. We do not accept tap dance.

Dances must be original choreography (e.g., no re-creations of Fosse or Robbins) and cannot be more than eight minutes long. Please send a video of the entire piece you would like us to present (rehearsal footage is fine) by 5:00 on Wednesday, June 27, 2012. You may e-mail the video to Marian Hyun at marian@jazzchoreographyenterprises.org or mail a DVD to her at 134 E. 93rd Street, Apt. 3A, New York, New York 10128. Feel free to contact Marian if you would like more information.
